See an Officer's Generous Act That Stopped a Disgruntled Teen From Leaving Home (VIDEO)

After fighting with his mom, 13-year-old Cameron Simmons called police. The Sumter, S.C. teen wanted officers' to help him leave home for good.

Officer Gaetano Acerra responded to the call and tried to get Cameron to see the big picture.

"I said, 'You have it good, you have a roof over your head,'" said Acerra to WISTV. "I told him I would try to help him out, and here we are now."

Acerra went above and beyond the call of duty to help Cameron, and a lasting friendship emerged from his extravagant act of generosity.
