Teachers facing backlash, termination for mocking Charlie Kirk's murder

Libs of TikTok shared audio of Guilford Technical Community College instructor Lisa Greenlee referring to Kirk as a “douchebag who brings karma down on himself.” Greenlee noted that at the moment Kirk was shot, he was talking about “mass shootings in comparison to gang violence in a dismissive way.”
Greenlee suggested that Kirk’s death was “karma doing her finest work.” Greenlee also offered praise for the shooter in her remarks. Greenlee also railed against Kirk for “sending out divisive, hateful messages” and “saying that empathy is a problem in North America.”
In a statement published on Facebook Friday, Guilford Technical Community College announced that Greenlee was “no longer employed by the college.” The educational institution insisted that “Greenlee’s behavior is not consistent with the college’s values and mission to serve Guilford County,” describing her “statement regarding the assassination of Charlie Kirk” as inconsistent with “the open and respectful learning and working environment that GTCC provides every day.”
