DC Films President Says Movies in Extended Universe Are 100% Connected

A few days ago, DC Entertainment President Diane Nelson said that the company is starting to rethink its cinematic universe.

In an interview with Vulture, she explained that as they move forward with their projects, there will not be an overall connection within the film universe. However, she also explained that they are still going to use continuity to make sure that everything still makes sense.

"Our intention, certainly, moving forward is using the continuity to help make sure nothing is diverging in a way that doesn't make sense, but there's no insistence upon an overall story line or interconnectivity in that universe," Nelson told the publication.

This gathered various reactions from the fans, and there were some who firmly believed that all of the movies should be connected in one way or another.

DC Films President Geoff Johns has recently taken to Twitter to reassure fans that all the movies in Warner Bros.' DC cinematic universe, also known as DC Extended Universe, have always shared a connection with one another.

In response to a fan's rant to keep the universe connected, Johns said: "It 100% is."

This confirms that all movies in the DC Extended Universe are indeed all connected, just as they have been from the start.

Johns' tweet should help ease the concerns of fans that the company may change their approach towards the cinematic universe. Although there are future projects that will not be under the DC Extended Universe banner, just like the planned origin film for the villain Joker, most of the company's films will still be included in the universe.

Last year, the universe was officially launched with "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice," which was a sequel to the 2013 "Man of Steel." The 2016 film also paved the way for the creation of the Task Force X in "Suicide Squad," as well as the superhero team, the Justice League.
