'Fallout 4' Guide, Tips and Tricks: How To Survive Outside The Vault
Bethesda's "Fallout 4" is by far one of the biggest open-world games today. Because of this, it is useful for players to have a handy guide that will help them progress in the game. The gaming news website IGN has a "Fallout 4" Wiki Guide which includes a Guide and Walkthrough as well as a compilation of Tips and Tricks such as what to do during the first day of play and what to avoid doing during the game.
IGN's Guide and Walkthrough provide players with a general overview of what missions and quests are in the game. The first part of the guide contains the list of missions that are considered essential. While these missions or story-based quests can be conducted in no particular order, the guide cites the basic quests that need to be completed. The second part of the guide lists optional quests that are available in the game.
Included in the main quests are Out of Time (escaping the Vault and starting the search for Shaun), When Freedom Calls (where the players encounter the Minutemen), Jewel of the Commonwealth (how to get help in Diamond City), rescuing a gumshoe in Unlikely Valentine, looking deeper into Shaun's disappearance in Getting a Clue, locating Kellogg in Reunions and searching for Doctor Amari in Dangerous Minds. In the Glowing Sea, the player needs to track down the escaped Institute scientist and in Hunter Hunted the player needs to search for a way to get inside the Institute. The last main quest listed is The Molecular Level where the player needs to construct a teleporter. The guide cited that after The Molecular Level quest, the story of the game splits. Beyond this, there are various quests that will be available and what they are will depend on how the player chooses to build the teleporter.
The Tips and Tricks section of the IGN "Fallout 4" Wiki Guide provide players with do's and don'ts so that their "Fallout 4" experience will be successful. Among the first things players should do after leaving the Vault is to go home. When the player goes home, he or she is granted access to a Grognak comic power-up and a You're Special stat boost, which can be found in different areas in the home. Going home also provides access to some crafting stations as well as some safes which may have some very useful contents.
Another thing to do is to look for a Fat Man launcher and a Mini Nuke, which can be found in the Robotic Disposal Ground, which is near the USAF Satellite Station Olivia.
When a player finds himself in Concord where he helps out Preston and the Minutemen, he should search the pockets of the dead Raiders he finds on the streets. One of them has the key to a storage area in the Corvega auto plant. Inside the storage area, the player will find a cache of ammunition and the Laser Musket.
Another task is for the player to look for fusion cores and getting a hold of all of them. According to the guide, there are a total of six cores that can be collected just outside the Sanctuary.
Spare armor is also recommended, to serve as backup to the Power Armor that the player will have gained from aiding Preston and his group. According to the guide, a spare suit can be found in the woods near the USAF Satellite Station and the robotic reclamation plant.
The last thing to do has to do with proper storage of weapons. According to the guide, bigger and more powerful weapons can be stored in the Workbench storage found in the Sanctuary. There will be other storage areas that the player can find and use later. That way, players can access their weapons when they most need it.
