'Grand Theft Auto' Online News: Double XP And Double GTA Cash In Store For 'Friends In High Places' Event

Great video games are usually those that are able to engage their community all the time, with special events that make its players come back and play regularly. "Grand Theft Auto Online" is one such game, with its special weekly events that gifts players with irresistible rewards. This week, "GTA Online" has launched an event titled "Friends in High Places" which allows players to earn double XP and double in-game cash.

According to a Tech Times report, this week's event allows players who are playing "Grand Theft Auto V's" online multiplayer mode to accept missions from specific contacts to earn more. For each day, the contact who holds the bonuses for that day will be different. Players need to pay attention to a schedule to find out who the contact for the day is.

The event kicked off last February 19, with Simeon as the contact. On February 20, it was Ron who gave out the bonuses, while yesterday, February 21, it was Trevor. When players accept missions from these specific contacts, they will be rewarded with double experience points and more importantly, double GTA cash that they can spend in the game. Today, Monday, February 22 will have Martin as the contact, with Lester next in line for Tuesday and Gerald on the last day, February 24.

Come February 25, it will be a free-for-all, as all contact missions will be offering double XP and double cash for that day only.

The game's developer, Rockstar North, has been regularly providing special events for its community, the last one being a special Valentine's Day event which brought new weapons, cars and even a brand new multiplayer game mode. With special events like these, the game is guaranteed regular spending by its players because of its microtransactions model, making the game one of the higher earning games for its publisher, Rockstar Games.
