'Hitman' News: 'Hitman' Beta Coming February 2016

When it was announced earlier this year that the game "Hitman" has been delayed to March 2016, fans of the game series were a little disappointed. During the recently concluded PlayStation Experience 2015 however, good news came by way of an announcement by game developer IO Interactive that the "Hitman" Beta will begin in February for the PS4 and the PC, according to a report in IGN.

The IGN report cited that the start date of the beta for the PS4 will be on February 12, 2016. In order to get into the beta testing program, players must have pre-ordered the game for their PS4s. According to another report in Gamespot, the beta for the PC will begin on February 19, 2016 based on an announcement by publisher Square Enix.

IO Interactive cited that the reason for the game's delayed release was because they were developing additional content for the game. During the announcement for the beta, the developer made good with its promise for additional content by revealing that the upcoming game will have six extra contracts which are called "The Sarajevo Six" which will be exclusive for PS4 consoles. The first three contracts, according to IGN, will be available with the game's launch in March, while the rest will be released within 2016.

The game is slated for a March 11 release, for current generation consoles, the PS4 and the Xbox One, as well as the PC. The fact that the beta is being run a month before the release date is said to be a good sign that no further delays will happen.

According to IGN, the beta will find the player 20 years in the past where he is "at a top secret ICA recruitment and training facility." The mission for the beta will be Agent 47's back story on how he became part of the organization. Its story line is said to attract both die-hard fans and newcomers alike.

In related news, it was also announced that the mobile game called "Hitman GO" will be finding its way to the PS4 and the PS Vita soon.
