iPhone X News: Apple Starts Shipping Device to Customers

The Apply iPhone X will officially be released this coming Friday, and consumers who pre-ordered the device early will most likely get their hands on the smartphone come release date.

GSM Arena reported that Apple has already started shipping the first batch of iPhone X orders in the United States. First to send initial shipment notifications outside of Apple are some of the leading phone carriers in the country.

According to 9to5Mac, Sprint was the first carrier to send the notifications to customers who pre-ordered the device. The report showed a screenshot of an email from the carrier showing the tracking information. The report noted, however, that the UPS, the company in charge of the actual shipping of the devices, has yet to update its website regarding the current location and delivery date of the units.

On the other hand, those who pre-ordered directly from Apple can already verify the shipment status of their devices via their UPS My Choice account, the report added.

Meanwhile, MacRumors said that pre-order supplies for the smartphone are sold out, noting that slots were filled up within minutes of its announcement last week. Moreover, consumers who will place their orders today will have to wait for more than a month before can get hold of their units. Apple, in turn, has been looking to improve on the shipping time, the report added.

Earlier this week, The Verge reported that Apple recently fired one of its iPhone X engineers for breaking company rules involving secrecy. Brooke Amelia Peterson, the engineer's daughter, posted a hands-on video of the iPhone X on Youtube after she visited the Apple campus to see her father.

Apart from showing footage of the device, the video also showed employee-only QR codes that were deemed to be confidential based on company policy. Apple, on their part, also requested Peterson to delete the video, but it had already become viral before it was taken down.

The iPhone X officially rolls out on Friday, Nov. 3.
