Jennifer Hudson Weight Loss News: Fans Gush as Transformed Singer Debuts on 'The Voice'

Since becoming a spokesperson for Weight Watchers seven years ago, singer and actress Jennifer Hudson has lost over 80 pounds.

As she made her debut as a coach on "The Voice" season 13, fans could not stop talking about her amazing transformation. From being a size 16, she is now a size 6.

In a recent interview on the U.K. television program "Lorraine," she talked about her secret for staying fit, and surprisingly, it does not involve exercise.

"I don't have time to do much exercise. I just watch what I eat," she reportedly told host Lorraine Kelly. "I'm very conscious of what I put in my body," the singer added.

Hudson also expressed in the past that she wrongly believed that depriving oneself was the way to succeed in her weight loss journey, admitting that it was not easy getting to her desired size.

"I had to break my diet mentality," she told Self Magazine, way back in 2011. "I used to deprive myself, thinking that was healthy. I didn't eat pasta, fried food, red meat. I hadn't had pizza in 10 years. If you're on a strict diet that says you shouldn't have any carbs or this or that, your body won't function the way it should," she went on to say.

Meanwhile, Hudson got 26-year-old Lucas Holliday, also known as "the singing cashier," on her team when she was the only coach who turned her chair for the contestant during the blind auditions. He performed "This Woman's Work" by Maxwell, and surprised the rest of the coaches, Miley Cyrus, Adam Levine, and Blake Shelton, by his unexpected appearance.

The 29-year-old church worship leader and drag artist Chris Weaver, who made all four chairs turn, also picked the "American Idol" alum to be his coach. He and Hudson share the same background as being members of the church.

"The Voice" season 13 airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
