'King of Fighters XIV': New Trailer Introduces Newcomer Sylvie, Hints of Two Other Returning Fighters

SNK Playmore recently released the eight trailer (below) for its upcoming fighting game "King of Fighters XIV." The latest video introduces a new fighter and teases two other characters.

The new character is called Sylvie and she appears to be able to use electromagnetic powers in her attacks. She is dressed in a cute outfit, with hair accessories that look like a pair of eyes, and has a cheerful and lively demeanor. A report from Shoryuken states she appeared in an alleged leak as part of the Official Invitation team. The leak claims to be a character select screen that showcases all 50 fighters. Other than Sylvie's team, two other teams are also said to be new.

Meanwhile, the returning fighters are Vice and Kim Kaphwan. Vice has been a mainstay since her appearance in "The King of Fighters '96" and oftens appear with Mature, who has yet to be announced for "King of Fighters XIV." On the other hand, Kim Kaphwan has been featured in both "The King of Fighters" and "Fatal Fury" series. He is a Taekwondo master who is also known as "The Crown Jewel of Taekwondo."

Earlier this month, SNK Playmore revealed the Drunken Fist Master Chin Gentsai, the South Korean Choi Bounge, and the "Fatal Fury" crossover character legendary Hakkyokuseiken master Tung Fu Rue. Previous trailers confirmed the appearance of new fighter King of Dinosaurs, Maxima, Terry Bogard, Clark Still, and more in the game.

"King of Fighters XIV" boasts a huge roster upon launch. The game will release with 50 playable fighters when it comes out later this year. In addition to the large roster, SNK Playmore is also expected to improve the game's 3D visuals and introduce a new multiplayer online mode and 3-on-3 battle system. It's confirmed to be available on Sony's PlayStation 4.
