Michael Phelps and Baby Boomer on Instagram: Top 3 Things That Changed in Swimmer's Life After Having a Family [PHOTOS]
Olympics 2016 qualifier Michael Phelps seems to be on cloud nine these days not only because he will represent the United States in the 2016 Rio Olympics for the fifth and last time, but also because he is having a great time being a new dad to his two-month-old son, Boomer Robert Phelps.
The legendary swimmer has been showing to the world that he is one proud dad by posting adorable photos of Baby Boomer on his Instagram account.
On Wednesday, Phelps shared a cute photo of him and baby Boomer hopping in the pool. "The little man loved the water today!" the Olympics 2016 qualifier captioned the adorable photo.
Michael Phelps is considered as the most decorated Olympian of all time with a total of 22 medals. But after the London 2012 Olympics, the 30-year-old legendary swimmer went through a lot of personal troubles which almost ended his swimming career. Thanks to fatherhood, the Olympics 2016 qualifier is now a changed man.
Apparently, Michael Phelps' life changed after his fiancée, Nicole Johnson, gave birth to baby Boomer. Here are the top three things that changed in the legendary swimmer's life after having a family.
1. He has new things to share aside from being a legendary swimmer.
Phelps used to talk only about his life as one of the greatest swimmers alive, but not anymore. Aside from swimming, he now talks about the joy and excitement of fatherhood. In an interview with USA Today last month, the Olympics 2016 qualifier shared that being a father to baby Boomer is a fun journey "that I think has made me the person who I am and helped me transform to me just being me."
2. He has changed his priorities.
Phelps also seemed to have changed his priorities. It isn't all about swimming anymore. The Olympics 2016 qualifier told Matt Lauer of "On Assignment" that he was initially nervous about taking the responsibilities as a father to baby Boomer. However, he believed that fatherhood would be one of his greatest experiences in life.
3. He is now more confident than ever.
Phelps' longtime mentor and coach Bob Bowman also revealed that the legendary swimmer is now more confident than ever as he has changed mentally, emotionally and physically. Fatherhood played a big role on these changes.
Moreover, Phelps revealed on his recent interviews that he would love baby Boomer to be around as one of his support systems during the last competitions of his Olympic career. "I'm sure he's not going to remember it, but just to be able to document that is something that will be cool and be pretty fun to share with him years down the road," the swimmer shared.
