'Outlander' Season 2 To Return In March 2016 With Lots Of Twists & Turns

The time for Season 2 of "Outlander" is drawing near. In the second season, Jamie and Claire leave Scotland and go to Paris, France. Their goal in France will be to stop the Jacobite Rising that will start soon. Claire's daughter, Brianna, will be making an appearance this season.

Most of the events of "Outlander" Season 2 will come from "Dragonfly in Amber," Diana Gabaldon's second book, but Brianna is featured in the fourth book. In the book, events transpire to take World War II nurse Claire Randall (Caitriona Balfe) and her 18th century Scottish husband Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) to Paris to embark on an adventure to stop the Jacobite Rising.

Meanwhile, a casting report, which initially came from TV Line, reported that a plot from Gabaldon's fourth book was mentioned in the casting call for Brianna's role. It read: "Brianna has secretly followed her mother back in time to find the father she never met and the family she never knew."

Brianna is reportedly Claire and Jamie's second daughter. In this season, she will also travel in time and go to Paris where she will try to meet her parents and find out more about her family.

Access Hollywood listed out the new cast members of "Outlander" Season 2. Among them are Lionel Lingelser, who will play the role of Louis XV; Laurence Dobiesz, who plays Alex Randall; and Frances de la Tour as Mother Hildegarde.

In the previous season, viewers may remember the scene where Geillis is being carried off to be burnt at the stake after sacrificing herself for Claire. However, some rumors say that fans might see her returning this season. Also returning is Tobias Menzies, who will come back as Claire's present-day husband named Frank. It remains to be seen whether he will return to become the evil Black Jack who was trampled to death by bulls in the last season.

Because of the time shifts, the television series of "Outlander" will not go according to the book series and this could bring in more twists and turns.

The show is scheduled for a March release on Starz.
