'Rainbow Six Siege' News: Patch 1.2 Detailed, Now Available For Consoles

Ubisoft's recently released first-person shooter "Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege" received its latest patch, which has already arrived for the PC version of the game. Patch 1.2 is now also available for console versions of the game, having arrived one day earlier than its reported January 14 date. According to a Tech Times report, this recent update will be providing fixes to the game's multiplayer matchmaking.

As the patch is already available for PC players, details of what improvements the patch brings have been shared through the report. According to the report, players may find better matches as the patch ensures that they are matched with opponents that have the same set of skills as them. The better matchmaking also works for groups or parties, as it helps match a party of players against other parties that have the same number of members.

Matchmaking is also said to be better in terms of matching players from the same data center. Since emphasis or priority is placed on players belonging to the same data center, this means that players can expect "better ping times." It also makes for faster and more efficient matchmaking as players do not need to wait long to find a match. To make things more interesting, players are also allowed to change their default data center.

As Ubisoft is used to getting feedback from its community of gamers, fixes are also provided for bugs that were flagged by players and shared in the community forums. According to Ubisoft, they have tried to address each and every bug that community members have raised. A PlayStation Lifestyle blog post provides a more detailed list of the fixes for Patch 1.2.

The patch for the PC version, according to Ubisoft, was the first to be released as a way of testing whether the fixes work and if they don't, they will be adjusted accordingly before releasing the final version. Players on the PS4 and the Xbox One got Patch 1.2 on January 13, a day earlier than expected, according to another article on PlayStation Lifestyle.

The game is set to receive another update for consoles, Patch 1.3, by the end of January, according to Ubisoft. However, it is said that Patch 1.3 for the PC has already become live since yesterday. Patch 1.3 is not as big in size as the previous patch and it aims to fix loading screen issues and a failed data synchronization issue, among others.

Meanwhile, the publisher is also targeting the release of Patch 2.0 by February 2 for the PS4, Xbox One, and the PC.
