'Stranger Things' Season 2 Plot News: Series to Take Fans to a New Location

When the new season of "Stranger Things" arrives on Netflix next month, fans will be taken to a new location as the new horrors and adventures begin.

After the series took the world wide web by storm when it was released last year, it was certain that a follow-up would be in the works. Fortunately, for the fans, its sophomore season will land on the streaming service just in time for Halloween.

Considering that the first season was quite impressive and had amassed a great viewership, people are curious if the next one will be just as good, or even better.

Entertainment Weekly recently caught up with "Stranger Things" creators, Matt and Ross Duffer, to talk about the highly anticipated second season of the series. While the Duffer Brothers did not exactly say where the action begins, one of them did tease that the season would open in a completely different place, and not in the usual Hawkins, Indiana.

"I liked opening the show in a place not in Hawkins, in an urban environment," Matt revealed. "I want people thinking maybe they've clicked on the show and then, boom, you realize 'Oh now we're still in it.' But it's all about broadening, and expanding our world," he added.

Does this mean that the threats have spread to another city?

In other news, while season 1 fan favorite Barb (Shannon Purser) has been confirmed to be gone for good and will no longer be back in the show's future seasons, it has been revealed that season 2 will re-introduce her parents as they try to find out how their daughter died.

Along with these spoilers, there is more good news for the fans. According to Shawn Levy, one of the show's producers, there is a possibility that the hit series could reach five seasons, but it is very unlikely for it to go beyond that.

"Stranger Things" season 2 premieres Friday, Oct. 27, on Netflix.
