WWE Latest News: Kurt Angle Not Interested In NXT Spot; Jim Ross On Mauro Ranallo Signing, Triple H on TLC
Former World Wrestling Entertainment superstar Kurt Angle has turned down a roster spot at the company's developmental branch WWE NXT.
The 47-year-old professional wrestler is currently working with Mexican Promotion Company Asistencia Asesoria y Administracion (AAA) since August 2012. He left the WWE in 2006, and has since been involved in other companies within the professional wrestling circuit.
In a report by Cageside seats, rumors regarding Angle's WWE return have been surfacing for a while already. Some rumors have already stated that Angle has already been in contact with WWE officials. Specifically, these rumors have claimed that he is being offered a roster spot at NXT.
This week, Angle went on to offer his response to the said rumors. In another report by Ring Rust Radio, Angle says that while he respects the talent level on the NXT roster, he feels that accepting the offer would not be worth it for him.
"I just don't think it would be worth it for either side to have me go down there and work on NXT," Angle said in the Ring Rust Radio report. "Not saying I wouldn't do it, but it is considered the WWE minor league."
Meanwhile, former WWE broadcast panelist Jim Ross shared his thoughts on Mauro Ranallo's appointment as the new voice of SmackDown and Triple H's condition after the recently concluded TLC event.
In a blog post on his personal website "JR's BarBQ", Ross complimented his "pal" Ranallo, whom he believes will be bringing something new to the table. He adds that Ranallo is a great broadcaster who would "immediately enhance the sound of SmackDown".
He also believes that the former Strikeforce play-by-play commentator will be able to blend well with other broadcasters such as Jerry "The King" Lawler and Booker T.
Ross also complimented Triple H for his work at the recent TLC event. "HHH sold magnificently for what was being done to him," Ross wrote in his website. "Text book example of how important 'selling' is today and forever in the wrestling business."
