Denise Richards Designs Shoes for Kim Kardashian’s Site, Proceeds for Charity

Actress Denise Richards has joined celebrities Kristin Chenoweth and Jenny McCarthy in designing shoes on ShoeDazzle to raise money for charity.

Richards has partnered with ShoeDazzle as a part of the Celebrity Shoe Design Program for Charity, on the site founded by Kim Kardashian. In the past, ShoeDazzle saw partnerships with Kirsten Bell, Carmen Electra, Carson Kressley, Kristin Cavallari, and former Spice Girl Mel B.

The most recent designer added to ShoeDazzle, Richards created a pair of light pink and gold embellished open-toed high heels with a gold metallic pin heel for sale on the website. The actress designed the shoe in honor of her late mother who died from kidney cancer in 2007. Proceeds will go entirely to the Kidney Cancer Association (KCA).

“Fashion has always been a passion of mine and I especially love shoes,” said Richards in a statement. “What woman doesn’t love a feminine, yet sexy pump in her collection?”

She continued, “Teaming up with ShoeDazzle to help a charity I admire and a cause that is particularly dear to me because of my mother provided an amazing opportunity to combine my passions.”

The shoe, named Eloise after Richard’s baby daughter, will be available for purchase on ShoeDazzle.com beginning Jan. 16. Also, one lucky fan will have lunch with Richards, and four runners-up will receive an iPod Shuffle. To enter the luncheon raffle and other prizes, contestants must upload a short video explaining why they want to win and must join the new website, KidneyCancer.me. In an additional effort of good will, the actress has recently “gone green” and urged her followers to give up plastic bottles in 2012. “It’s a great time to start thinking about those resolutions,” said Richards wrote on her official blog.

An avid blogger, the actress continued, “Instead of just sticking to the usual goals of dropping a few pounds or hitting the gym, why not take one simple step that will help the environment, the health of your family and your pocketbook all at once?”
