Third youngest vice president

Upon being sworn-in, Marine Corps veteran, bestselling author, and former Ohio Senator, James David Vance, will become the third-youngest vice president in United States history.
The 40-year-old Vance bumps Vice President Dan Quayle, who was 41 when he began serving under President George H.W. Bush, from the third place spot, according to U.S. News and World Report.
In second place is Richard Nixon, the late former president who was also 40 when he became vice president under President Dwight D. Eisenhower, serving in the role from 1953-1961.
First place belongs to John C. Breckinridge, who was 36 when he was sworn in as vice president in 1857, serving in the one term presidency of James Buchanan. Ironically, Breckinridge became an officer in the Confederate Army during the American Civil War.
