Inauguration Day: 7 interesting facts about Trump’s second swearing in
First president since Grover Cleveland to serve two non-consecutive terms

When he is sworn in as president on Monday, Trump will become the first commander-in-chief since Grover Cleveland to serve two non-consecutive terms in the White House.
Cleveland was first elected president on the Democrat ticket in 1884, running as a reformer and taking office in 1885. Republican challenger Benjamin Harrison beat him in 1888, albeit while losing the popular vote.
In 1892, Cleveland won reelection to his second and final term. However, his unpopularity led his party to nominate William Jennings Bryan for president in 1896 rather than have him run again.
On a related note, Melania Trump will become the first woman to serve as first lady in non-consecutive presidential terms since Frances Folsom Cleveland, wife of Grover Cleveland.
