The big winner from Super Tuesday was former Vice President Joe Biden, who won nine of the 14 state competitions: Alabama, Arkansas, Massachusetts, Minnesota, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia.

Of those, Texas was a key victory, as the Lone Star State has 228 delegates, with it having the second largest delegate count of all the Super Tuesday states.

Biden went into Super Tuesday having won the South Carolina Primary and getting last-minute endorsements from former primary rivals Sen. Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota and former South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg.

As a result, as of Wednesday morning, Biden leads the Democratic field with 453 delegates. Second place belongs to Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont with 382 delegates.
