Duchess Kate Middleton is pregnant with her second child, Kensington Palace confirmed this morning and is again being treated for extreme morning sickness.

"Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting their second child," the palace statement said. "Her Royal Highness will no longer accompany The Duke of Cambridge on their planned engagement in Oxford today. The Duchess is being treated by doctors at Kensington Palace."

During her first pregnancy, Kate had to be hospitalized in order to be treated for hyperemesis gravidarum, an extreme form of morning sickness. She and husband William had not even told the Queen that she was pregnant but were forced to with her hospitalization. This time around, the couple is more aware and Kate is being treated at their home, hopefully staving off another trip to the hospital.

"The Queen and members of both families are delighted with the news that Their Royal Highnesses are expecting their second child," a tweet from Clarence House read.

Reports state that Kate is not even through her first trimester but had to reveal the pregnancy again, due to her illness. She is supposed to go to Malta later this month on a solo trip, but that is in question because of her health – officials said that a decision would be made closer to the date.

The entire world has been keeping an eye out for any sign that Kate was pregnant, knowing that she and William would likely have a second child soon after welcoming Prince George. The little prince celebrated his first birthday in July and is the official heir to the British throne after his grandfather Prince Charles and dad William.

Congratulations and best wishes have poured in for the royal couple, including one from Prime Minister David Cameron.

"Many congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge," he tweeted. "I'm delighted by the happy news that they're expecting another baby."
