Oklahoma Thunder Trade Rumors: More Teams Eyeing Star Forward Kevin Durant

Three other teams have reportedly shown interest in acquiring the services of Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Kevin Durant.

Most recent reports have claimed that Durant is mainly being eyed by the New York Knicks, in a possible team-up with Carmelo Anthony and rookie big man Kristaps Porzingis. However, in a report by Fred Kerber of the New York Post, the Los Angeles Lakers, Brooklyn Nets, and the Washington Wizards are also eyeing to sign the 2014 Most Valuable Player awardee.

According to Kerber's report, the Lakers' interest in Durant mainly lies on Bryant's departure and the team's search for a new go-to guy, while Washington is Durant's birthplace and home state. The Nets' case, on the other hand, was attributed to the money owner Mikhail Prokhorov is willing to spend.

For Thunder head coach Billy Donovan, thinking about the offseason is still far from his mind, as Durant calls his own shots as to where he intends to go.

"I'm not going to spend a lot of time personally thinking about July," Donovan said. "That's something Kevin will handle himself at that point. When the offseason comes, it comes, and he'll go through whatever process he has to go through."

In another report by Phillip Dengler for the Inquisitr, Durant is bound to be signed with a hefty contract by the summer. And given that his salary is expected to be in excess of $25 million per year, the Knicks may have to make huge adjustments, as they only have around $19 million in salary cap space.

As one of the top prospects during the 2007 NBA Draft, Durant was selected second overall by the Seattle Supersonics, before moving to Oklahoma City to become the Thunder.

Since then, he has been the team's main man, winning the 2014 MVP plum, along with seven NBA All-Star appearances.

For the current season, he has played a total of 41 games and is averaging 27.0 points, 7.9 rebounds, 4.6 assists, and 1.2 blocks, through 35.9 minutes of playing time per game.
