Pro-Life Group Launches 2005 Face the Truth Tour

Defend Life's 5th Annual Maryland Face the Truth Tour began on Monday and will continue throughout the week on the East Coast.

Sending a bold pro-life message, the 5th Annual Maryland Face the Truth Tour began on Monday and will continue throughout the week on the East Coast.

Those who travel through popular spots in Maryland, Washington, D.C., or Virginia this week may see something they don’t expect – and that may shock them.

During the annual event held by the pro-life group Defend Life, large graphic images of aborted babies will be displayed at heavily traveled intersections to educate the public about abortions and to ensure that the message reaches the most people with the most impact, according to Defend Life.

Director of Defend Life, Jack Ames, commented on the importance of the annual Face the Truth Tour.

“Many Americans still don’t get it when it comes to understanding abortion. They think it is just another medical procedure instead of the deliberate destruction of an innocent pre-born perfectly formed baby occurring 4,000 times every day in America alone,” said Ames. The graphic displays intend to bring public attention to the reality of abortion in the nation.

The group has faced protests in the past regarding the graphic nature of the photos. However, organizers hope that the images will help people see precisely what abortion looks like and that the tour will better educate the public to take part in national debate on the issue.

The Face the Truth Tour continues through Friday, June 24.
