Quantico Season 2 Spoilers, Release Date and Preview: Alex to Join CIA; Will She and Ryan Finally Get Together Officially?

ABC's thriller series, "Quantico," is prepping up for its second season this September; and it looks like our favorite secret agent has landed a new job at the secret service!

We'll see Episode One kick off with Alex Parrish's (Priyanka Chopra) new job at the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) - which means bigger crimes to solve. As Alex tries to learn the ropes at The Farm, CIA's private training service, she'll try to balance it all with her continuing ties with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). This might be tough as FBI often clashes with the secret service.

New job, new faces

With a new job, there will definitely be new faces so you can expect new characters coming into the show! There's Dayana Mampasi (Pearl Thusi),an A-type Harvard lawyer, who is having trouble fitting in the CIA environment; CIA officer Owen Hall (Marvel Agents of SHIELD alumni Blair Underwood) whom everyone in the CIA wants to learn from; ambiguous Harry Doyle (Russell Tovey) who sounds like a thief; and a yet-to-be casted prodigy named Lydia, whom TVLine suggests as sharp, sexy, and multilingual.

Meanwhile, Quantico would be amiss without Ryan Booth (Jake McLaughlin). In the previous season, Ryan admitted that he loved Alex. This season, it looks like even with Alex's new job, the two are finally taking their relationship to the next level.

For "RaLex" shippers, Quantico's showrunner and producer Josh Safran promised that the first time viewers will see Alex, they will see them together. He also said that their relationship, as well as everything in Season 2, was bound to take on a slower course, having finally gotten the fugitive chase over and done with.

Then again, this being a thriller, Safran teased that something abruptly goes wrong within 45 seconds of the premiere. Talk about intrigue.

What happened before

The new season will be picking up from a tragic finale; Liam was revealed to be the terrorist behind the carnage initially pinned on Alex. Alex and Ryan shot him down, but quickly realized that the bomb can't be defused. Simon Asher jumped into the car with the bomb and drove it off the bridge to contain the explosion underwater.

Alex then realizes that Claire Haas knew everything about Liam before and she doesn't even deny it. So, we're likely to see her back in Season 2 as there's a price to pay for her mistake.

Looks like a jam-packed new season for ABC's series! Catch its season premiere on September 25.
