Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Rumors: Here's A Glimpse of What We Think We Know So Far

Based on the announcement patterns of Samsung in recent years, it will most likely announce a brand new version of the Galaxy Note. Like previous rumors about past versions of this lineup, the Galaxy Note 5 will reportedly bring new features and specs to the table.

While there is nothing official yet, here are some of the rumors surrounding the upcoming Android-powered smartphone:

Bigger Screen, Same 2K Resolution

Earlier this year, there were rumors claiming that the upcoming Galaxy Note 5 will feature a 4K or Ultra HD display. Unfortunately for Samsung fans who have been hoping for such a screen resolution, a new report debunks the previous rumor and claims that Samsung would stick with QHD or 2K resolution for its screen. However, the Note 5's screen is rumored to be bigger than its predecessor, about 5.89 inches long.

Still No Snapdragon, to Get Updated Exynos Chip Instead

The Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge both did not get Qualcomm's latest SoC, but instead acquiring the Exynos 7420 octa-core CPU. Samsung reportedly had overheating issues with the Snapdragon 810 and so it used its own. As for the Galaxy Note 5, the Korean manufacturer will reportedly stick with Exynos, but get an updated Exynos 7422 chipset.

Bigger, Better Battery

In the report, the rumored Galaxy Note 5 will boast a massive 4,100mAh battery, which is almost a third more than what the current model has, which is only 3,220mAh.

Other than the rumored specs mentioned, another interesting feature is the USB 3.1 Type-C port. This reportedly allows for faster transfer speeds of up to 10Gbps when paired with compatible devices. The port also enables the device to become more power efficient.

We'll see more details and rumored specs of the Galaxy Note 5 in the coming weeks and months.
