On Monday, Trump hosted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House. During his meeting with the Jewish leader, which took place just ahead of the second anniversary of the terror attacks perpetrated by Hamas that led to an ongoing conflict between Israel and the terrorist organization, the two leaders unveiled the terms of a peace deal that would bring the fighting to an end.

The terms of the peace deal include an immediate end to the war, the release of all Israeli hostages (those still alive as well as the bodies of hostages tortured to death) within three days, and a gradual withdrawal of Israeli troops as a new international body called the “Peace Board” takes control of war-torn Gaza. Whether the peace deal is implemented depends on whether Hamas accepts the terms of the agreement.

Speaking to reporters Tuesday, Trump said he was willing to give Hamas about “three or four days” to respond to the peace offer. “Hamas is either going to be doing it or not. And if it’s not, it’s going to be a very sad end,” he vowed.

The president maintained that there is “not much” room for further negotiation with the terrorist organization: “We have one signature that we need and that [signatory] will pay in Hell if they don’t sign. I hope they sign for their own good and create something really great.”

Trump shared additional details about the timeline for Hamas to accept the deal in a Truth Social post Friday, giving Hamas until 6 p.m. EDT Sunday to either accept or reject it.

In a subsequent Truth Social post Friday afternoon, Trump shared a statement from Hamas indicating that the terrorist organization had agreed to release all of the hostages, living and deceased.
