'Doctor Who' Season 9 Episode 8 Spoilers: The War With The Zygons Continue; Will Maisie Williams Replace Jenna Coleman?

The events in the current 9th season of BBC's hit sci-fi TV series, "Doctor Who," just keeps getting more intense and thrilling as the show moves on this week with an episode that will see Earth facing impending trouble in the hands of an invading alien force. Meanwhile, a new casting report brings bad news to hopefuls.

For those who missed it, the previous episode "The Zygon Invasion" saw the alien race returning to Earth and creating chaos. The goal of their revolution is to conquer the world, once and for all, and make it their own so that they can appear as themselves.

Fans may remember that the creatures need to constantly shift shapes so that they can live among humans. Furthermore, the Zygons are capable of reading the minds of their victims, making them such a formidable foe for the Twelfth.

The chaos continues to unfold in the next episode titled "The Zygon Inversion" where the official synopsis shared over at International Business Times indicates that the non-human beings are already proliferating throughout the whole of UK and it seems impossible to know who to trust.

Adding to the pressure is the fact that the UNIT has already fallen under the control of the enemy. This leaves the Doctor to figure out a way to quell the revolution and save humanity in the process.

The trailer for the segment, which was also posted in the article, revealed the Osgood Box. It still isn't clear what the thing can do. It could either "end the ceasefire" or "start the war."

Meanwhile, Ecumenical News reported that Maisie Williams, who had long been rooted to fill in the shoes that cast member Jenna Coleman will soon leave, won't be the next companion. Citing the interview with the series co-creator Steven Moffat, it has been confirmed that the "Game of Thrones" star will still be involved in the show but she won't necessarily be replacing Coleman's role on the show.

"Doctor Who" airs Saturdays, at 9 p.m. on BBC America.
