Floyd Mayweather Fight News: 'Money Mayweather' Open To Fight Gennady Golovkin Under One Condition

Retired undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. has dropped a hint about making a comeback, and a possible fight against one of today's most talked about fighters.

"Money Mayweather" officially retired from professional boxing in September 2015, after a landslide victory over former world champion Andre Berto. Coming off another victory and a fat payday against eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao four months prior, Mayweather coasted through Berto and ended winning by unanimous decision.

Mayweather left the sport with a record of 49-0, with 26 victories by knockout. Despite being retired, though, Mayweather was managed to keep himself relevant within the conversations in today's boxing world. Many of his fellow fighters have issued challenges, seemingly looking for a huge payday against him.

The most prominent name that has been attached to Mayweather's as of the moment is that of hard-hitting Kazakh knockout artist Gennady Golovkin. Mayweather may have repeatedly declared his intent to remain retired, amid the buzz about a possible rematch against Manny Pacquiao.

But in a recent report by Edward Chaykovksy for Boxingscene, it seems like the 39-year old fighter is looking to forego these plans for a possible showdown against Golovkin. He did, however, offer one condition for the said fight to happen.

"When you hear stuff about Tripe G, like I said before, I told Triple G what he had to do if he wants to fight me," Mayweather said. "He's gotta call out Andre Ward, beat Andre Ward, and then I'll fight him."

"I haven't seen him call out Andre Ward yet," he added. Ward is currently slated to face undefeated Sullivan Barrera on Saturday, March 26th, in Oakland. As for Mayweather, the idea of a comeback is not something he has closed his doors on.

In fact, he says he is looking to face one fighter if he does come out of retirement for the second time.

"I have to say Danny Garcia because you look at Danny Garcia, he's undefeated and he's a world champion," Mayweather said.

Golovkin is the reigning unified WBA, IBF, and IBO world middleweight champion. He currently holds a record of 34-0, with 31 victories by knockout.
