Golden State Warriors vs. Orlando Magic: Preview

Eleventh-seeded Orlando Magic will be taking on the defending champions Golden State Warriors for the first time this season on Thursday, February 25, at the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida.

The Magic, bannered by the likes of Nikola Vucevic, Aaron Gordon, and Evan Fournier, are looking to improve their record and put up more victories this time around. The team has lost four of its last eight games in the month of February in relatively narrow margins and these games were against the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Los Angeles Clippers, the San Antonio Spurs, and the Indiana Pacers.

In their last game on Tuesday, where they won with a score of 124-115 against the Philadelphia 76ers, it was Vucevic who contributed the most, scoring 35 points, while Victor Oladipo and Evan Fournier did their part by piling in 22 points and 21 points, respectively.

As a team, the Magic shot 48.2 percent from the field, and 85.4 percent from the free throw line. They currently hold a win-loss record of 25-30.

The Golden State Warriors, on the other hand, have managed to keep a league-leading win-loss slate of 51-5. Led by reigning Most Valuable Player awardee Stephen Curry, alongside hotshot guard Klay Thompson, the Warriors have won five of their last six games against the likes of the Atlanta Hawks, the Los Angeles Clippers, the Phoenix Suns and the Houston Rockets, just to name a few.

Their last game against the Miami Heat on Wednesday at the AmericanAirlines Arena in Miami, Florida was a relatively close one with the Warriors winning with an end tally of 118-112. With Curry's game-high 42 points, the Warriors were able to shut down the Heat's run by outscoring them in the second, third and fourth quarters of the game.

Head to head, the Warriors are averaging 115 points per game, while shooting 48.7 percent from the field, along with 46.6 rebounds per game. The Magic, on the other hand, are scoring 100.1 points per game, while shooting 44.9 percent from the field, along with 44.1 rebounds per game.
