LG Unveils LG Stylus 2 Ahead Of MWC 2016 Debut

Korean company LG seems to be making a habit of getting ahead of itself. After announcing a pair of the midrange handsets, LG has unveiled yet another device, the LG Stylus 2, ahead of its debut at the upcoming MWC 2016 in Barcelona. According to a report in Gadgets 360, the device is touted to be an "enhanced sequel" of the LG G4 Stylus, which is also known as LG G Stylo in the United States.

According to the company's press release, the LG Stylus 2 has a 5.7-inch display and is said to share "many of the premium features available on LG's flagship models" and is "exceptionally priced." The device is said to come with a pen that has a "nano-coated" tip, which has "more accuracy" compared to the older rubber-tipped pen. This makes the device ideal for note-taking and drawing, according to LG.

Another report in The Verge describes the handset as much lighter and thinner than its predecessor, the G4 Stylus. The LG Stylus 2 weighs 20 grams less, at 145 grams, and is only 7.4 mm thick. The handset has a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel selfie camera.

The phone's other features were described in the Gadgets 360 report. It will have Pen Pop, which assists the user in using the stylus properly. When the stylus is removed, a pop-up menu appears, giving the user options such as Pop Memo and Pop Scanner. The device will also have Pen Keeper, which is supposed to prevent the user from misplacing the stylus, as it displays a pop-up message when the stylus bay is empty while the phone is being used.

Screen resolution is pegged at 720 x 1,280 pixels, while under the hood, the device is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor paired with 1.5 GB of RAM. Onboard storage is at 16 GB, with support for expandable memory via a microSD card slot.

The device will make its debut at the MWC 2016 in Barcelona starting February 21.
