Los Angeles Clippers vs. Golden State Warriors: Preview

Defending champions Golden State Warriors will attempt to hold on to their league-best record as they take on the dangerous Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday night, March 23rd.

The said game will be taking place at the Oracle Arena in Oakland. The Warriors and the Clippers have already met thrice in this season alone. And throughout all three contests, Golden State has managed to come out on top.

During their first game last November 4th, Golden State managed to emerge victorious via a narrow margin, with a final score of 112-108. It was the first time reigning Most Valuable Player Stephen Curry and company was put to the test, after four consecutive games of blowout victories.

In the said game, Curry dropped 31 points, along with five rebounds and four assists, on 8 out of 17 shooting from the field, through 32 minutes of playing time. Forward Harrison Barnes also contributed significant numbers, adding in 17 points, nine rebounds, and three assists, on 5 out of 8 field goal shooting, through 35 minutes of playing time per game.

The second game took place 15 days after, this time with the Clippers hosting. But playing at home was not much of a factor for Los Angeles, who lost via a seven-point deficit with a final score of 124-117. It was Golden State's sudden three-point barrage in the fourth quarter that lifted them up, as the team shot 8 out of 9 from beyond the arc.

Once again, Curry was the main man for the Warriors, scoring 40 points, along with 11 rebounds, four assists and three steals.

In the third game, the Warriors only held on to a three-point edge to win over the Clippers with a score of 115-112. Again, it was their superb shooting that gave them the victory, as the team shot 51 percent from the field.

Guard Klay Thompson was the top contributor for the Cavaliers, scoring 32 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and three steals, shooting 11 out of 22 from the field, through 39 minutes of playing time.

The Warriors currently hold a record of 63-7, while the Clippers hold a record of 43-26, situating themselves at the number four spot of the Western Conference standings.
