Mayweather-Pacquiao Fight: Final Deal Inked, 1,000 Tickets for Public Sold Out in Less Than A Minute

Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao have reached an agreement on contract details that have finally allowed tickets to go on sale.

Before this issue was resolved, a dispute between Top Rank, Mayweather Promotions, and the MGM Grand threatened to put the fight at risk of not taking place at all on May 2. But a late morning conference call initiated by Len Moonves, president and CEO of CBS Corporation, paved the way to resolve all issues, according to Yahoo! Sports.

Promoter Bob Arum said that he and Top Rank president Todd duBoef met with Moonves and Mayweather adviser Al Haymon and now, nothing stands in the way of the biggest and richest fight in boxing history from happening.

"We resolved all the issues and now were waiting for the paperwork," Arum tells Yahoo! "I said on the call that if what we agreed upon is in the paperwork we receive, we will sign it and the tickets will be released."

On Thursday, April 23, at 3 p.m. ET, tickets for the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight sold out in less than a minute online. Tickets for the fight were priced at $10,000, $7,500, $5,000, $3,500, $2,500, and $1,500. Only 1,000 tickets were made available to boxing fans for the mega-fight in May.

A few hours after the tickets were sold out, tickets for the fight began appearing on the secondary market, and according to Daily Mail, one ticket went for as much as $128,705 on StubHub.

Ringside public seats costing $10,000 were not released for public sale with several reports suggesting those seats would exchange hands on the black market for upwards of $200,000.
