Miami Heat vs. New Orleans Pelicans: Preview

Third-seeded Miami Heat will be facing the twelve-ranked New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday to complete the remaining games of the 2015-2016 NBA regular season.

The game will be held at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans.

The first time Miami and New Orleans played against each other this season was on Christmas Day, with the Heat winning by a narrow six-point lead, with a score of 94-88 during overtime. Miami's victory was a result of a team effort between big man Chris Bosh and superstar franchise player Dywane Wade.

Bosh finished the game with a double-double, scoring 30 points, while adding in ten rebounds and four assists, with 11 out of 25 field goal shooting, through 42 minutes of playing time. Wade, on the other hand, scored 19 points, and added in six rebounds and four assists, shooting 7 out of 20 from the field, through 36 minutes of playing time.

In the said contest in which he described as an "ugly game by both teams", Wade gave most of the credit to Bosh, whom he said "kept the team afloat."

For his part, Bosh did make a promise to "rise to the occasion" on Christmas Day.

Coming into this game, the Heat will be missing the services of Bosh, who has been indefinitely sidelined due to blood clots on his leg. And like the Heat, the Pelicans will also be taking the brunt left by the absence of forward Anthony Davis.

In a report by NBA.com, Davis will be undergoing some medical procedures to repair both an injured knee and a torn labrum on his left shoulder.

The Pelicans currently hold a 26-43 win-loss slate. And for head coach Alvin Gentry, it has not been a smooth-sailing ride for him in his debut season with New Orleans.

"This is the most frustrating season I've ever been through. When I left Golden State to come here, I thought it was the best job available," he said.

The Heat, on the other hand, hold a record of 40-29.
