Nate Diaz vs. Conor McGregor 2: Diaz Not Happy With Rematch, Says It Is A 'Crazy Idea'

Former UFC lightweight title contender Nate Diaz is not that big of a fan of the idea of a rematch against current featherweight champion Conor McGregor.

Diaz ended fighting "The Notorious" on short notice last March 5th at UFC 196, after stepping in as a late replacement for lightweight champion Rafael Dos Anjos, who was forced out of the bout due to a broken foot, 11 days before fight night.

More interestingly, the 30-year Diaz revealed after the fight that he did not have a decent time to prepare for the fight, as he was in Cabo, Mexico on vacation, and was actually slightly ill because of some "Mexican water."

But most notably for him, he was able to come out victorious, winning over the brash Irishman via rear-naked choke submission in the second round of their fight. Many lauded Diaz for being the "better martial artist", mainly because he was able to break the hype that has been surrounding McGregor since his UFC debut in 2013.

So much so, that the idea of a rematch has been an intriguing conversation. While reports have been released about a part two between Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor at UFC 200 this July, Diaz himself is not too thrilled about the idea.

For him, it is once again about the double standard that he has previously spoke about, as far as the UFC's build up for Conor McGregor goes.

"I lost plenty of decisions and I've never got a rematch to this day. So that's crazy," Diaz said. "Conor got worked over and now they're saying rematch, which makes sense, I understand that."

Diaz went on to point out how former long-time featherweight champion Jose Aldo was not granted a rematch with McGregor.

"I think it's funny because it's like, Jose Aldo didn't get a rematch," Diaz continued.

Right after UFC 196, McGregor did declare that his next move would be to drop back down at 145-pounds to defend his title.
