Selena Gomez Opens Up About Her Life-Saving Kidney Transplant

It can be recalled that this summer, Selena Gomez underwent kidney transplant due to her a health condition called Lupus. It was her friend Francia Raisa who donated one kidney, giving her another chance at life.

The 25-year-old singer and former Disney star recently opened up about the experience, alongside Raisa, whom she met way back in 2007, during a visit to a children's hospital.

"My kidneys were just done. That was it," the singer said in a preview of an exclusive interview on the talk show Today. "I didn't want to ask a single person in my life and that was the day, when I came home, I found out she volunteered and did it," she added.

Saying that Raisa saved her life, Gomez also admitted that what they both went through was not easy, but she hopes their story will help others.

"I just hope that this inspires people to feel good that there are really good people in the world," the "Bad Liar" singer told host Savannah Guthrie as she gets emotional recounting the experience.

Although she is still continuing to recover from the transplant, Gomez is set to perform at the American Music Awards next month.

In other news, Gomez has just been photographed having breakfast with former boyfriend Justin Bieber. According to TMZ, where the photo of the two was first posted, they were at a cafe in Westlake Village, California. This has been the third time that the former couple has been spotted together.

Last week, Bieber was reportedly at her house and left around midnight. He was said to be worried about her following the kidney transplant. Gomez's current boyfriend, The Weeknd, was not present.

"Justin lost touch with Selena for a while, but they are communicating again," a source told People. Reports also say that Gomez's boyfriend is aware of her hanging out with her ex and is apparently okay with it.
