'Uncharted 4: A Thief's End': Naughty Dog Promises 'Amazing' Levels

Developer Naughty Dog has revealed how the levels in its upcoming action-adventure title "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" will "look amazing."

Anthony Vaccaro, a 3D environment artist at Naughty Dog, recently tweeted praises for the game's levels.

"Each time I see someone's Uncharted 4 level I haven't seen in a while I am blown away by how amazing they look," he tweeted. "It's gonna be awesome!"

Vaccaro adds in response to a fan that seeing his colleagues' work in "Uncharted 4" "always makes me want to try harder and be better which is the best." Gaming site Attack of the Fanboy, which first spotted the tweets, attributes the title's delay to the developer's perfectionist attitude.

"Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" was initially set to release in the fourth quarter of last year. But then Naughty Dog moved the title's launch to March 18, 2016. Finally, in December, the release date was moved again to April 26, 2016.

When the game's Creative Director Neil Druckmann and Game Director Bruce Straley made the announcement, they said that they needed "a bit more time to finish the game so that it meets our standards and visions."

The latest installment in the "Uncharted" series is expected to end the treasure hunting adventures of the game's protagonist, retired treasure hunter Nathan Drake. This ending is not definite, though, as Sony, who owns the rights to the franchise, could still decide to continue the "Uncharted" series indefinitely. However, Naughty Dog believes the events in "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" will make it hard to create a sequel that continues Drake's story. Druckmann had said then that the title spells "the end for Nathan Drake."

In addition to providing a close to Drake's story, "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" will also show the other side of Drake. A trailer (below) released during "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" premiere teased this more personal side of the game's protagonist.
