Why Rob Gronkowski Helped Mojo Rawley Win Andre Battle Royal: WrestleMania 33

Wrestling has always been a form of entertainment that evokes huge doses of testosterone and rage. When one combines such action with interference from another machismo-infused sport, it creates a spectacle that is hard to not notice, which brings to the topic of Rob Gronkowski helping Mojo Rawley in the ring.

During the Andre Battle Royal fight last April 2, Jinder Mahal threw Mojo Rawley outside the ring and continued to hit on him. It just happened that they were on the side where his friend, New England Patriots star Rob Gronkowski, was watching and was trying to cheer him on. Mahal took notice of Gronkowski, took his drink and threw it at the football player.

With rage building up, Gronkowski didn't take the taunt lying down and much to everyone's surprise, stepped into the ring, hitting Mahal where it hurts. This gave Rawley some time to recover and finally kick Mahal out, making him the new winner.

Obviously, Gronkowski helped his friend out due to the fact he was taunted by getting his drink spilt on him. That can be considered his reaction, but is it any deeper than that? How did Gronkowski and Rawley know each other?

According to Heavy, Rawley used to be a football player before he dived into the world of professional wrestling. He was first playing for Green Bay Packers in 2009 and then moved on to Arizona Cardinals in 2010.

Before that, he used to play for the University of Maryland, where he met Dan and Chris Gronkowski, Rob's brothers. That was then how the two eventually got to know each other and became close friends.

As far as Rob's thoughts on Mojo, he told Cageside Seats, "[E]ver since he's been in it, now I know way more about wrestling and I'm definitely a way bigger fan now. It's always something like that, when you have a buddy [doing] something, you always pay a lot more attention to it."

That explains why Rob was there for Mojo, so his enemies best beware when they see his friend watching close by.
