10 Christian Democrats running on their faith in the Nov. 3 midterm elections

9. Chaz Molder of Tennessee

An attorney and the Democratic nominee for the U.S. House in the Tennessee’s 5th District, Charles “Chaz” Molder became the youngest mayor in state history in 2018. His campaign as a moderate, pragmatic Democrat has primarily focused on affordability, fiscal responsibility, and constituent services.

In addition to his public service, Molder and his family are active members of the First United Methodist Church in Columbia, the church where Molder grew up, according to his campaign website. 

Molder’s dad has also been a Sunday School teacher at First UMC for over 30 years.
