10 Christian Democrats running on their faith in the Nov. 3 midterm elections

4. Robb Ryerse of Arkansas
The leader of Vintage Fellowship, a “spiritual community” where “everyone is welcome regardless of faith (or lack thereof),” Ryerse was raised in a fundamentalist Baptist household and once ran as a Republican candidate for Arkansas' 3rd Congressional District in 2018.
He has since switched parties, citing Trump's takeover of the GOP, and is now running as a Democrat against longtime Republican incumbent Rep. Steve Womack.
As part of his campaign, Ryerse says he supports the expansion of voting rights, campaign finance reform, investing in public education and “abolishing” U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Ryerse’s campaign site also calls for lawmakers to “protect the separation of church and state” and to “stand against Christian Nationalism and the harm it causes.”
