The Idyllwild fire has grown from 8,000 acres as reported on Tuesday, to more than 14,200 acres by Wednesday.

Officials have confirmed that the fire is still only 10 percent contained, and there is still a huge amount of work to be done until the blaze is brought under control.

Offering an update on Wednesday morning, the U.S. Forest Service said three mobile homes and three residences in Bonita Vista were the latest to be destroyed in the wildfire.

Those residences join one commercial building, a workshop, a garage and a cabin that were previously destroyed by the fire in Pine Springs.

In addition to those, there are 11 other buildings reportedly destroyed by the fire, and six vehicles have also been burned up by the blaze.

The fire is believed to have been sparked on Monday afternoon near the junction of highways 243 and 74, and burned east of Mountain Center and Apple Canyon.
