Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., a Democratic Socialist who ran a surprisingly powerful primary challenge to Hillary Clinton in 2016, finished Super Tuesday in a strong second to Biden.

Sanders won California, Colorado, Utah, and Vermont. As of Wednesday morning, Sanders has 382 delegates, putting him less than a hundred delegates behind Biden.

“You cannot beat Trump with the same-old, same-old kind of politics,” declared Sanders at a speech in Burlington, Vermont, alluding to Biden. “This will become a contrast in ideas.”
