Salvation Army responds to 'misinformation' about ministry, Chick-fil-A ending giving

The Salvation Army expressed their dismay that Chick-fil-A would no longer be funding them and stressed that helping those in need is their core mission.
"We're saddened to learn that a corporate partner has felt it necessary to divert funding to other hunger, education and homelessness organizations — areas in which The Salvation Army, as the largest social services provider in the world, is already fully committed," The Salvation Army said.
"We serve more than 23 million individuals a year, including those in the LGBTQ+ community. In fact, we believe we are the largest provider of poverty relief to the LGBTQ+ population."
Most Americans like church involvement in society, but not politics
While a majority of United States citizens view religious bodies as having a positive impact on society, they nevertheless believe that they should not take part in politics, according to Pew Research Center.
63 percent of respondents wanted religious groups to “keep out of political matters” and 76 percent opposed churches endorsing political candidates.
The report also found that while 28 percent of respondents felt churches did not have enough influence on politics, 37 percent felt they had too much, and 34 percent felt they had “about the right amount of influence in politics.”
Saint Patrick film based on life of Irish missionary starring John Rhys-Davies hits theaters in 2020
Actor John Rhys-Davies will play the lead in the upcoming movie about the life of Ireland’s patron saint, Patrick.
The inspiring docudrama, “I Am Patrick: The Patron Saint of Ireland” will hit theaters on St. Patrick’s Day 2020 and aims to enlighten people on the little-known true story of St Patrick. From CBN Documentaries and Director Jarrod Anderson, the feature-length film features Rhys-Davies, known for his role in “The Lord Of The Rings,” as the older Patrick. Sean T. O’Meallaigh (“Vikings”) and Robert McCormack also portray Patrick at different phases of his life.
‘Overcomer’ actor stars in 'Don't Say My Name,' groundbreaking film on human trafficking
Cameron Arnett, one of the stars of the hit faith-based film “Overcomer,” took on a new role that he’s passionate about — tackling the realities of human trafficking and what goes on after one is rescued from the sex trade.
“Don't Say My Name,” inspired by true stories, tells the story of human trafficking survivor Adriana after she “bravely escapes her captors."
“Tackling an epidemic is never easy, but it's always worthwhile,” Arnett told The Christian Post.
Investigators find ‘no evidence’ Emanuel AME Church mishandled donations for massacre victims
The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division recently opened an investigation into claims by a former employee that Emanuel AME was mishandling donations given to the church following the 2015 mass shooting by white supremacist Dylann Roof.
Tommy Crosby, spokesman for the state Law Enforcement Division, said investigators “completed their review” and found “no evidence” of financial misconduct.
Emanuel AME Pastor Eric Manning stated that his church “has always handled donations in a way that they were intended” and thanked “SLED for their attention to this issue.”
“I am prayerful that this will continue to aid in the healing process by all who were directly and indirectly impacted by the horrific event of June 17, 2015."
