'Doctor Who' Season 9 News: Ingrid Oliver Returns As Osgood In 'The Zygon Invasion;' More Maisie Williams Character Coming Up!

A familiar face is about to return as the ninth series of the hit cult-classic TV show from BBC, "Doctor Who," continues this week with an episode titled "The Zygon Invasion."

According to the spoiler report from International Business Times, actress Ingrid Oliver will be reprising her role as Osgood. The 12th Doctor and his trusted companion, Clara, will come to rescue Osgood from the hands of the Zygons.

Described in the synopsis as a "race of shapeshifting aliens," the Zygons were revealed to have been living discreetly among human beings here on Earth. Through wit and tact, they remained "unknown and unseen" for a long time, but that's about to change.

Followers of the series might have already been acquainted with the aliens as they appeared quite a few times in the show. The latest of which was for the 50th anniversary of the series in 2013.

Osgood, on the other hand, was supposed to dead. Her last appearance was when Missy vaporized her back in Season 8.

Perhaps the upcoming episode will reveal if the Doctor had travelled back in time when the character was still alive.

Meanwhile, for those who still would want to see "Game of Thrones" star, Maisie Williams, in "Doctor Who," their wish is apparently granted.

The casting report from Den Of Geek said that Williams, who played the Ashildr and Lady Me characters in the current season, will show up again for the adventure-filled 10th episode called "Face the Raven."

Aside from Williams, Jovian Wade is also appearing in that segment as Rigsy.

The synopsis for "Face The Raven" said that the Doctor and Clara will be accompanied by their old friend, Rigsy, in a "secret alien world, folded away among the streets of London."

For "The Zygn Invasion," it indicates that the duo will race against the clock to save Osgood while at the same time quell an uprising.

"Doctor Who" Season 9 airs Saturdays at 9 p.m. on BBC America.
