'Fast RMX' Nintendo Switch Review: Racing Game Considered as Hybrid Console's Second Best

Nintendo Switch's racing video game "Fast RMX" is reportedly considered the second-best game that is exclusive to the new hybrid console, just next to the open world fantasy action game, "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild."

The game offers a smooth and fast-paced video racing experience, with game reviewers attesting how it matches its predecessor, "Fast Racing NEO," which was available on the Wii U.

"Fast RMX" is similar to "F-Zero" because of its focus on high-speed and anti-gravity gameplay techniques. The new game is noted for its easier and smoother curves compared to "Fast Racing NEO," which was rougher for most players. It also features high quality graphics at 1080p/60fps when docked, while running at 720p/60fps when undocked.

Nintendo Switch's Joy-Cons can also be customized for the game, and it can be played by two players with one Joy-Con each. The racing game features 15 vehicles and 30 different tracks that are set in futuristic cities and alpine peaks. It also has four different modes - the Time Trial Mode, Championship Mode, Multiplayer Mode and Hero Mode.

The Hero Mode is reportedly the most difficult level while the Multiplayer mode supports up to four-player split-screens while maintaining high quality graphics in the process. Championship Mode, on the other hand, takes racers to go for three tracks at a time to unlock additional groups.

The game is overall noted for its precision and stability, but a review from the Nintendo Enthusiast observes that the online racing of "Fast RMX" does not seem to have smooth servers as some racers "warp" from time to time.

Game developer Shin'En Multimedia announced that a new update for the game will be released to fix these issues and allow friend searches for online "Fast RMX" modes.

Other than being a good quality game, it is also reasonably priced at $19.99 - and that's for the entire package already. The Verge reports that the game is a better deal compared to "Super Bomberman R" which is priced at a hefty $49.99.
