San Antonio Spurs vs. Oklahoma City Thunder Preview: Thunder Looking To Extend Win Streak Against Second-Seeded Spurs

The second-seeded San Antonio Spurs will be looking to carry on with their winning way as they take on the streaking Oklahoma City Thunder.

The two teams will be meeting each other for the third time this season on Sunday, March 27th, at the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma.

The first time both teams met was during the season opener last October 28th. In the said game, it was the Thunder who emerged victorious via a six-point margin, with a final score of 112-106.

 It was also coach Billy Donovan's debut as the skipper of the Thunder, and he was able to rally his wards to putting on a tight performance, leading through three quarters of the game.

Guard Russell Westbrook was Oklahoma's star of the night, bagging a double-double by the end game. He scored 33 points, along with ten assists, two rebounds, and two steals, shooting 12 out of 23 from the field, through 36 minutes of playing time.

Superstar forward Kevin Durant also made some major contributions, scoring 22 points, and six rebouds, through 34 minutes of playing time.

The Spurs were able to bounce back in the second game last March 12th, as they emerged victorious with a final score of 93-85.

It also marked the team's 41st consecutive victory at home, the third longest streak behind the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls team that won 44 straight, and the current Golden State Warriors team that won 48 games in a row.

Forward Kawhi Leonard was the Spurs' main contributor, with 36 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and three steals, shooting 10 out of 24 from the field, through 37 minutes of playing time.

Lamarcus Aldridge also piled in some major numbers, scoring 24 points, along with nine rebounds, and three assists, shooting 10 out of 24 from the field, through 37 minutes of playing time.

The Spurs currently hold a record of 60-11, while the Thunder hold a record of 50-22.
