Silent Hills PS4 Release Date, News: Game To Get Open World Gameplay?

After years of waiting, players and horror game fans will finally get their hands on the next Silent Hill game.

According to a report by KpopStarz, the new horror game will be scarier and more intense than the previous installment.

In an interview with Hideo Kojima of WhatifGaming, the game will have a different feel compared to its predecessors.

"Development is cycling between either allowing players to choose to play the whole game in first person or third person, or keeping it fixed third person and having some areas be first person only. Either way, we want to do something with first person. The game will not be out more than likely until 2016, lots of time left", Kojima said.

Meanwhile, the new feel of the game mentioned by Kojima could be due to the new Fox Engine, which Silent Hill will reportedly use for the PS4 release date.

However, just in case the developers do use Fox Engine, it means that Silent Hill could be an open world game, much like the Grand Theft Auto. In this scenario, the game may have an open world gameplay, where the protagonist can choose between certain 'scenarios' or 'episodes' that s/he will play.

To make things even more interesting, The Walking Dead start Norman Reedus expressed his excitement in working with both Kojima and Guillermo Del Toro.

However, the crossbow-wielding action star hinted that they are still in the process of bringing the 'heavy stuff' to the development – which just means the game is already under development.

"I'm super excited to be a part of Silent Hills. Both those guys are geniuses at what they do. We haven't shot the 'heavy stuff' yet", Reedus said in an interview.
