WWE Rumors : Steve Austin non-commital on future show appearances

'Stone Cold' Steve Austin unsure, says Wrestlemania 32 possibly his last one.

The World Wrestling Entertainment realm may have seen the last of "Stone Cold" Steve Austin at WrestleMania 32 last month.

"The Texas Rattlesnake" made a surprise appearance during the company's annual blockbuster event last April 3rd at the AT&T Stadium (more popularly known as the Dallas Cowboys Stadium) in Arlington, Texas.

Right before the said event, Austin had expressed his intent to keep himself on the sidelines. During an episode of his own podcast entitled 'The Steve Austin Show' months before WrestleMania 32, the charismatic WWE legend shut down the possibility of ever coming back to actively wrestling.

"I'm not willing to do anything that my heart's not set on. I love my fans, I love the WWE fans, I love wrestling fans, I love wrestling. I just don't need to wrestle anymore," Austin said (via Bleacher Report).

According to WWE.com, WrestleMania 32 broke a number of records, including being the most "social" event in company history. Per the numbers released by Nielsen Social, the said event garnered 2.5 million mentions on Twitter during event day, and 1.3 million mentions during the broadcast alone.

The WWE also generated $4.55 million in WrestleMania merchandise revenue, $1.2 million more than WrestleMania 31. The said numbers could be attributed to the star-studded show, which included the return of Austin, along with fellow legends Shawn Michaels and Mick Foley.

But according to Austin himself, it may likely be the last time fans would be seeing him inside the WWE's squared ring. In a report by Andrew Ravens for WrestlingNews.co, having the event held in Texas, which is the former wrestler's home state, added more sentimental value to his most recent appearance.

"It was good to go down there," Austin said. "The situation could have been a little cooler. It was fun to do business with those guys, but the crowd was outstanding. I hope everybody had a good time. I don't know when the next time I'll ever hit a WWE ring will ever be again. That might have been the last time."

The report adds that the WWE had to stop editing Austin's lines, similar to how Roman Reigns was booked and appeared backstage that night, despite being in the sidelines due to injury.
